FAG Angular contact ball bearings, FAG Bearing 71988-MP has single-row angular contact ball bearings and Double-row angular contact ball bearings.

Single-row angular contact ball bearings are self-retaining units with solid inner and outer rings and ball and cage assemblies with poly-amide, sheet metal or brass cages. The raceways of the inner and outer rings are offset from each other along the bearing axis. The bearings are available in open and sealed designs. Their angular adjustment facility is very limited.

Single row angular contact ball bearings accept high radial and axial loads. Axial loads are absorbed in only one direction against the shoulder guide. For axial counter support a second bearing mounted inverse is required. The pressure angle of 40° make these bearings highly resilient. Suitable for high speeds.

The main dimensions of angular contact ball bearings conform to DIN 628-1. Dimensional and running tolerances correspond to tolerance class PN acc. to DIN 620. These tolerance classes are standard and are well suited for most applications.

FAG Bearing 71988-MP Double-row angular contact ball bearings can support axial loads in both directions and high radial loads. They are particularly suitable for bearing arrangements in which rigid axial guidance is required.

X-life

Bearings of X-life quality have an improved raceway geometry and optimized surfaces. This provides a significant increase in the fatigue limit load of the bearings. When calculating the expanded adjusted service life, values up to 50% higher are achieved. In certain applications, this means that a smaller bearing arrangement can be designed.

Double-row angular contact ball bearings are units with solid inner and outer rings and ball and cage assemblies with poly amide, brass or sheet-steel cages. Their construction is similar to a pair of single-row angular contact ball bearings in an O arrangement, but they are narrower to a certain extent. They differ in the size of the contact angle and the design of the bearing rings.

The bearings are available in open and sealed designs. Due to the manufacturing processes used, open bearings can have turned recesses in the outer ring for seals or shields. Sealed bearings are maintenance-free and therefore facilitate particularly economical bearing arrangements. The angular adjustment facility of angular contact ball bearings is very limited.X-life

Double-direction axial angular contact ball bearings are precision bearings without self-retention and with restricted tolerances to class SP. They comprise solid-shaft locating washers, spacer rings, housing locating washers and ball and cage assemblies with solid brass cages. In these bearings, the raceways have optimized roughness and geometrical accuracy. This gives a higher load-carrying capacity and longer service life. X-life is the premium brand that identifies particularly high-performance products under the INA and FAG brands.

They are characterized by a longer rating and operating life – the result of higher dynamic load ratings than those of current standard products. If the load and design envelope are unchanged, X-life bearings have a longer rating life. Longer maintenance intervals are possible.
